Raise your middle finger incident, Russian TV Broadcaster Fired

A well-known television broadcaster in Russia, Tatiana Limanova, was fired after his middle finger just after the name of U.S. President Barack Obama in a news release. Middle finger is a gesture that is considered very rude in the U.S. and in several other places in the world.

REN TV television station has fired Limanova confirmed in an official statement released Thursday (24/11/2011). "The management of REN TV regard this as a grave breach of discipline is a form of broadcast and unprofessional," said the statement.
The bizarre incident occurred on 14 November last, when Limanova hosted the evening news. The event went smoothly, until the award-winning television Limanova TEFI the prestigious Award in Russia, began reading the news about the APEC summit in Hawaii.

"(Russian President) Dmitry Medvedev became chairman of the organization's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) today," said Limanova opened the news. "This position was previously held by U.S. President Barack Obama." After reading this section, the announcer raised his left hand from the table and showed his middle finger to the camera.
