Russian billionaire and owner of the Nets, Mikhail Prokhorov, was officially registered as a candidate for president on Wednesday after collecting two million signatures. His name will now appear in the March 4 ballot, with the favorite candidate of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and the three others.
While he was busy campaigning, his net worth has decreased. Prokhorov is now a wealth of between U.S. $ 12 billion and U.S. $ 13 billion, down from U.S. $ 18 billion in March 2011 when Forbes publishes the world's richest people.

Prokhorov is estimated to have cash of U.S. $ 4 billion, the funds remaining from the sale of Norilsk Nickel in 2008 with fellow billionaire Oleg Derpaska. Before entering into politics, Prokhorov was busy running a variety of investments, including Russian-language magazine, published in the American Snob.
