Jakarta Indonesia-Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) is brewing the rule blocking a phone number that sends short messages (SMS) or deliberately spread false addresses at random.
This rule is useful for blocking junk SMS (SMS spam) is much complained of by mobile users.
Head of Information and Public Relations Kemenkominfo Gatot S Dewa Broto explain these rules will be incorporated into the revised regulation (Gum) No. 1/2009 of the Short Message Service and Premium Messaging Services.
"Currently there are complaints from the public about stray SMS (SMS spam) is. If proven harm, then we will propose a rule revision that makes candy No. 1/2009. Until now, the rules of SMS spam is not regulated in any regulations. So that users are exposed to any SMS spam can only complain, but will not be able to completion.
With SMS spam rules incorporated into the revised Ministerial Regulation No. 1/2009, at least the right of consumers to receive SMS can be applied correctly. Against users who send SMS spam can also be prosecuted.
"The revised regulation will be completed in 1 to 1.5 months. Week later will be ratified by the Minister of Communication," he said.
