
Today, the aircraft departed from Cape Canaveral in Florida to Dulles International Airport in Washington DC. If all goes well the plan, the aircraft will already be at the museum for the show on Thursday (4/19/2012).
In Washington, the NASA flight plan with a low height so that Discovery can be seen residents. Flight will pass through the National Mall and Reagan National Airport. Planned low-altitude flight at 10:00 to 11:00 local time.
Discovery's mission to end antariksa in March 2011.This aircraft has undergone a trip into space 39 times, 365 days of missions and accompanying the NASA space program for 30 years.
NASA has put an end to the whole program space shuttle flight since last July. After Discovery, the shuttle Endeavour and Atlantis also will soon dimuseumkan.
At the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum,the prototype aircraft will replace the Discovery Enterprise, while the Enterprise will be moved to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York on 23 April.
