Previously, six nuclear reactors in Fukushima Daiichi badly damaged during the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. The explosion occurred at four reactors after the cooling system off. The incident caused a radiation leak and forcing thousands to evacuate. The danger zone as far as 20 kilometers around the reactor was applied.
